Note for 501c3 Organizations

This site is intended for 501c3 organizations to use for the purpose of public, media and candidate education regarding energy issues and global warming, and how these subjects affect virtually every American. 501(c)(3)-status organizations are prohibited from any activity that expresses a preference for or against certain candidates.

We strongly encourage 501c3 organizations to use the site in a manner consistent with federal law. We believe that sending out the entire questionnaire, and inviting candidates from multiple races to respond regardless of the particular dynamics of that race, are uses consistent with the law.

Modifications to the questionnaire, or choosing to focus on a narrow set of races could be viewed as expressions of preference for or against certain candidates.

Any organization with 501(c)(3) status may wish to consult an attorney prior to distributing, promoting or creating any candidate questionnaire.
